Robust, Remote, Specialist
Any power equipment supplied to the mines must be robust to withstand extreme and often arduous conditions. Power On Australia can supply industrial power quality and power protection equipment, certified to IP 65 when necessary (dust, heat, water proof); and design key power solutions for integration and ongoing maintenance.
Some of our clients are located in the remotest areas of Australia and require specialist, tailored solutions. We supply, test and maintain power quality products from AC UPS to DC products designed to work in arduous conditions underground and in explosive proof cupboards.
Our Mining Industry Clients Include
Rio Tinto – Power On Australia has worked on many projects with Rio Tinto. In particular Pilbra Mine and Ranger Mine use Power On Australia for all their power protection requirements; whether for a large power factor correction or UPS unit, right down to a simple sealed lead acid battery.
BHP – Power on Australia has worked on many projects for BHP. A key project involved the design and integration of DC components for their Hybrid Power Systems project in Western Australia. This was a very exciting project for Power On Australia to be involved in right from conception.
Hexagon Mining – Design, construction and supply of outdoor DC power systems for a variety of applications is a speciality of Power On Australia. We were approached by Hexagon Mining to configure a system to meet the specific needs for all their communication nodes. Our system was proven to be very effective, resulting in cost savings of over half what was spent on a previous system. They have since approached us to build many other custom systems to met the needs of their various applications.
Uranium One – Power On Australia has supplied power protection equipment to Uranium One for many years. This has ranged from specialist DC systems, right through to simple network cards for remote monitoring purposes. The dusty, dirty and hot site conditions have always been a key consideration in devising customised power solutions for Uranium One.
Howden Australia – Power On Australia designed, supplied, configured and commissioned several custom power solutions for Howden’s Moranbah North Coal Project. These systems included isolation transformers, earth leakage detection systems, rectifier subsystems, battery charging units, energy storage and inverter systems.
